Media Analyst (Chinese Proficiency)

About the Department: Insight Services Meltwaters Insight Services team is responsible for curating bespoke reports and managing key projects of our biggest clients. We deliver business-essential intelligence reports based on our keen analyses of various media outlets across traditional and social media channels.
Our core competency of high adaptability to clients requirements comes from the unique team of individuals composed of diverse insights & analytical skillsets. We always strive to break new grounds, constantly focusing on solution-oriented approaches and at the same time developing every individual to his or her full capacity. What Youll Do:

• Be part of a founding media insights team based in our office in Kuala Lumpur
• Utilise our Meltwater proprietary software, G Suite Tools, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint extensively, to cover the end-to-end process of extracting raw data and delivering reports in a practical format for the clients
• Manage your portfolio of dailies/monthly/quarterly projects and ensure accurate & satisfactory output throughout the delivery process
• Acquiring and logging of data from broadcast and social media platforms, consolidating report narratives and maintaining databases
• Able to precisely summarise, translate news titles and articles from Chinese/Malay to English
• Play an integral role of working cohesively with your team to ensure all deliverables and tasks are completed in high quality and well within deadlines
• Share and contribute best practices in quantitative and qualitative reporting techniques
• Work closely and interdependently with internal analyst teams, team leads, project managers, with a shared purpose of value-adding to the clients

Who You Are:

• Strong proficiency in Chinese and Malay language (for translations into English) and strong proficiency in English
• Able to work in rotational shift hours (Sun-Sat, 4pm-1am/4am-1pm)
• Preferably Bachelors Degree (in any discipline) with strong academic results
• Entry level or have up to 1 - 2 years of relevant working experience
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, G Suite tools, any experience with formulas are also a plus
• Detail-oriented: ensure data integrity, precision, and exercise vigilance in the analyses to arrive at correct conclusions
• Excellent in both qualitative and quantitative report writing skills
• Experience working in large teams is a plus
• Have a keen interest/keep up with current affairs, mainstream media, and social media
