Purpose:

Lilly works with an extensive network of third-party organizations to perform a vast range of activities across the enterprise. Known internal risks that may impact Lilly such as privacy, information security, compliance, pricing, IT, etc. are amplified or compounded with the use of third parties. Today, third party oversight is decentralized at Lilly. There are many functions working with third parties in some capacity including, but not limited to: Procurement, Third Party Management Organizations (TPMOs), Risk Domain Partners including Audit/Assessment Teams.

The Working with Third Parties (WwTP) program is implementing a holistic approach to support consistent, efficient, and effective decision making and determining potential inherent risk. The central team’s scope encompasses priority business and risk areas across all stages of the third party collaboration lifecycle. Successful execution of this strategy will reduce third party risk, strengthen capabilities, drive consistency and efficiency, and reduce cost.

The scope of the TPRM Hub Team will include the following:

Create and maintain policies, procedures, and training to drive consistent WwTP for third party use. Liaise with Risk Domain Partners to create and maintain: Risk Definitions, Tolerances, and Required Training for TPMOs, Engagement Owners, and Third Parties. Construct and own the overall WwTP Program. Own the enterprise WwTP technology solution. Provide oversight of the WwTP initial and on-going monitoring due diligence processes. Report progress and results to Senior Leadership including, but not limited to, the CPO, the SVP of Ethics & Compliance, and the Compliance & Enterprise Risk Management Committee (CERMC).

Responsibilities:

Oversight and accountability for timely execution and coordination of end-to-end process & risk management activities/process steps throughout the WwTP lifecycle (Evaluate and Select, Contract and Onboard, Manage and Monitor, Terminate or Renew).

  • Oversight of tasks to ensure lagging items are actioned to defined SLAs – Intake forms and Determine Due Diligence
  • Oversight of WwTP inquiries to ensure work distribution and quality and timely responses, including soft knowledge resources – Delegating enquiries to applicable teams (Coordinators,Risk Co-ordinators,KL Team & Management)
  • Work in partnership with other teams to ensure smooth transitions as necessary & provide training/coaching where necessary
  • Act as main point of contact for complex coordinator & customer query triage
  • Partner with data strategy to determine approach and execute onboarding of third parties to the WwTP program
  • Oversight of good order review quality checks and associated shared learnings
  • Manage, monitor & optimize Leverage Existing Assessment Framework (LEAF) file and lead RDP meetings
  • Run daily huddles with the team and liaise back any team improvements/issues to the manager
  • Ensure Assessment Coordination completed accurately with most relevant updates, lead meeting Assessment Coordination Meeting (ACM) and actions arising with the Risk Co-ordinators and be the escalation point
  • Monitor and track due diligence and ongoing monitoring activities to completion within the WwTP Tool
  • Support ongoing monitoring activities in conjunction with Risk Partners, Third Party Management Offices (TPMOs), Risk Assessors and Engagement Owners as required
  • Drive operational excellence, collate metrics on open and completed tasks in identifying areas of opportunity or improvement within the process lifecycle
  • Responsible for coordination of actions arising from all screening/monitoring processes with responsible parties
  • Decide and acts promptly, using good judgment and anticipates or removes obstacles to make progress making sure M1 & M2 are aware of said obstacles
  • Conduct sampling on WwTP activities completed throughout the lifecycle and applies learnings, including accurate documentation of activities
  • Continuously seek opportunities to further enhance and improve processes tracking team suggestions
  • Support Ad hoc projects as required
  • Champion the Team Lilly values, act as a direct support to management and colleagues

Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 years+ experience working in a risk environment
